Capcom’s upcoming flagship fighter, Street Fighter 6, has been the talk of the town since its reveal. Fans have been clamoring for a chance to get their hands on the game. The only chances for people to actually play Street Fighter 6 were either during physical events or the two closed betas that took place in December and January and, more recently, through the demo. But that will all change soon, as Capcom just confirmed that Street Fighter 6 will have an open beta this month.
The open beta for Street Fighter 6 will take place from 19 May to 21 May (preload will be available on May 16). And fans will be able to play the game for as much time as possible over the weekend. Street Fighter 6 also got a demo not too long ago, but it was quite limited in terms of features, and this open beta will give people a chance to try out the quality of the online multiplayer while getting some training in.
Capcom Announces Street Fighter 6 Open Beta For May 2023
Speaking of, the open beta will give players access to Ranked matches, Casual matches, Extreme battles, Battle hubs, and, most importantly, Training mode. What’s even better is that the open beta will have crossplay enabled with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Meaning the online community will be brimming, and you should be able to play with people regardless of your location.
The PS4 version of the game is still absent for some reason, leading a lot of fans to worry about the last-gen port’s quality. Some images have shown that the game doesn’t look that great on PS4, but there’s still room for improvement before release.
Street Fighter 6 comes out soon after the open beta on June 2nd, and it seems Capcom is pushing all the right buttons before release. The community is very excited about the game, and this open beta will only make things better. Capcom clearly believes in its product, and this gives everyone hope. If the previews are anything to go by, Street Fighter 6 is going to do very well. To register for the open beta, you can visit the Capcom website here and follow the instructions depending on your platform.
