Some more gaming goodness from The Game Awards 2020! As an homage to the arcade classics, Capcom announced Ghost ‘n Goblins Resurrection and Capcom Arcade Stadium as upcoming 2021 titles for the Nintendo Switch. Ghost ‘n Goblins Resurrection will be a fresh take on the popular platformer series. Meanwhile, Capcom Arcade Stadium will include 32 of those classic Capcom arcade games that made our childhoods great. Both titles will be released in February 2021.

The iconic platformer is back! Along with the inevitable frustrations that it brings gamers.

As an homage to the classic Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts games, this latest installment offers action platforming gameplay, “storybook-like” graphics, and that infamous old-school video game difficulty that’ll keep you coming back for more.

In the spirit of the Capcom Arcade Stadium, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrections sees the return of our beloved (and sometimes naked) Capcom hero, Arthur. Once more, Arthur must run, jump, and fight his way through the Demon Realm in order to save the princess from the hands of the Demon Lord. Long-time fans will be glad to hear that familiar enemies such as Zombie, Skeleton Murderer, Pigman, and Red Arremer will be back with a vengeance in this new installment.

For new fans who are intimidated by Ghosts ‘n Goblins horror stories, Capcom included three difficulty settings for the game. Arthur can go through his dark and fantastical journey in Squire, Knight, or Legend difficulty. As a new addition to the series, there will also be a Page mode, which allows “untested apprentices to respawn on the spot with unlimited lives.”

Classic weapons such as the Lance and Dagger will be accessible to Arthur once again. There will also be new additions like the Hammer and Spiked Ball. Moreover, Arthur will be able to utilize Firewall and Thunderstorm – spine-tingling magic spells that will strike fear in your enemies’ hearts if they have one.

Capcom Arcade Stadium is packed with 32 Capcom classics that will transport retro gamers back to a simpler time. It will also include a free download of 1943 – The Battle of Midway and the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins as an add-on.

Arcade fans can choose to purchase up to three different arcade packs that showcase Capcom’s arcade classics’ different eras. This includes Bionic Commando and Strider of the 1980s and Super Street Fighter II Turbo of the ’90s. Players can also purchase the all-in pack, which contains all three packs of 10 games in addition to the Ghosts ‘n Goblins add-on.

The game will have local multiplayer for the games that support it. It will also feature various settings, such as adjustable game speed, difficulty, and display filters. Oh, and it has the rewind feature so that you can beat the games without having to pull too much of your hair out.

Which game are you looking forward to revisiting? What are some of your favorite Capcom titles? Let me know in the comments below!
