Ahead of October, Capcom has revealed the horror-themed content coming to Street Fighter 6 for Halloween, and what better series to bring the spook to the streets than Darkstalkers, another Capcom fighter known for its horrific characters from scary stories?
Before you get too hyped, just know that these aren’t playable characters like a crossover with the Darkstalkers series, although that would be amazing, these are just cosmetic and customization items that you can use in either World Tour, Battle Hub or simpler things that will let you change the way you start online matches in Street Fighter 6.
Titled the Darkstalkers Gala, the event was confirmed through a small gameplay trailer that showed off some of the things you can expect from the free content update (available above). The star of the show is none other than the claw-wielding canine, Jon Talbain, who was shown multiple times during the trailer.
You will be able to obtain his skin and then put it on your World Tour or Battle Hub custom character for use in casual Avatar battles. However, the content isn’t limited to him, as one part of the trailer also shows an image of Jedah Dohma and some stickers of familiar characters like Morrigan Aensland.
If you frequent the Battle Hub, expect a slight shift in style like the one we saw for the Akuma launch event. Hopefully, this will come with a lot more opportunities to earn Drive Tickets and Kudos, allowing you to obtain more free content from the store.
The trailer ends with a few examples of the new background animation for the Challenger Screen when you connect to a match online, promises 3 music tracks from Darkstalkers, a handful of titles, and other content as well.
Apart from the new Halloween Fighting Pass, Season 2 of Street Fighter 6 is currently under, with two characters already available in the game, both Terry Bogard and M. Bison. Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Elena from past Street Fighters will join the roster in the coming months. Hopefully, season 3 of the game will include at least one crossover character from past Capcom fighters like Darkstalkers.
