The first Captain America: Civil War trailer just dropped. That, coupled with a new movie poster, is sure to leave Marvel fans delighted. The trailer opens with the post-credits scene from Ant-Man, in which we see Captain America, and Falcon approaches a trapped Bucky Barnes. Through the dialogue, we begin to get the impression that Bucky may have been framed for some sort of attack.
We also see the return of General “Thunderbolt” Ross, reprised by William Hurt from The Incredible Hulk. Ross tells Captain America that, while a great many people see him as a hero, there are some who would prefer the word “vigilante.” Ross then tells him that the world can no longer tolerate him operating without supervision and unlimited power as he has been doing. General Ross warns, “There will be consequences,” as the scene then focuses on Iron Man prying open a steel door.
Also, we get a look at Black Panther, appearing for the first time in Civil War, as he lays a smackdown on Bucky Barnes. Several other characters can be seen including Black Widow, War Machine, Scarlett Witch and Hawkeye. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has still held off on making an appearance, so you’ll have to wait a little longer to see him in action.
The trailer closes with a voice-over from Captain America apologizing to Tony saying, “I’m sorry Tony, you know I wouldn’t do this if I had any other choice, but he’s my friend.” Then, Tony dishearteningly says, “So was I.”
