Cardi B’s (@iamcardib) concert comments about ICE set off a firestorm this week, and the Department of Homeland Security didn’t hold back. After the rapper issued a bold warning from the stage, federal officials responded publicly. What followed was an explosive back-and-forth that quickly took over social media.
Cardi B vs ICE: DHS Responds, Then She Fires Back
The moment unfolded during the opening night of Cardi’s “Little Miss Drama Tour” in Palm Desert, California. While performing “La Cucaracha,” she asked the audience if there were any Guatemalans or Mexicans present before delivering a bold warning.
“[Expletive], If ICE comes in here, we gon’ jump they [expletive],” she told the crowd, drawing loud cheers. She kept the energy high, adding, “I’ve got some bear mace in the back! They ain’t taking my fans, [expletive].” DHS (@DHSgov) soon responded publicly on X, writing:
“As long as she doesn’t drug and rob our agents, we’ll consider that an improvement over her past behavior.”
The comment quickly went viral, but Cardi (@iamcardib) wasn’t done. In response, she fired back online:
“If we talking about drugs let’s talk about Epstein and friends drugging underage girls to [expletive] them. Why yall don’t wanna talk about the Epstein files?”
Her post added another explosive layer to an already heated exchange.
Fans React After DHS Response Goes Viral
The agency’s comment triggered a flood of online reactions. Fans were stunned that the official government account weighed in so bluntly. One user wrote, “Why did you cook her like that.” Referencing her spat with Nicki, another joked, “Ain’t no way they gave Nicki the Homeland Security account.”
Others questioned whether the account was real at all. “How is this not a parody account ???” one person asked. Perhaps the most viral take summed up the shock factor: “Cardi B getting owned by the official Homeland Security .gov account is something I didn’t expect to see on this fine Thursday, but here we are 😭😭😭😭”
Cardi also got support from fans who called for transparency on the Epstein files, saying: “Exactly. Everyone wants to talk about street drugs, but the real scandal is the elite trafficking network Epstein ran and the powerful people who covered it up. Time for full accountability. 🕵️♂️💥”
Another commenter noted: “No fr cause why they never talking about these pedophiles they let around? One thing’s clear: this headline-grabbing clash is far from over and subtle. Guess what, the internet is eating up every second!
