Carrie Underwood tends not to garner backlash for her fitness displays on Instagram, but her most recent social media post appeared to raise some eyebrows. Updating her account last weekend, the country singer showed off her rippling muscles while pumping iron in a stylish activewear look, also mentioning her Fit52 workout app in her caption.
Despite thanking fans for their positive input over the years, as she stated that knowing what people think helps her, the American Idol winner was met with shade by some of her fans. She did, however, gain over 48,000 likes for the share posted two days ago.
Carrie Underwood Puts On Impressive Display On Instagram
Photographed mid-workout, Carrie highlighted her shredded figure as she worked both her upper and lower body from an indoor workout space.
Likely outfitted in a gym look from her 2015-founded CALIA line, the singer modeled a marble-print pair of spandex leggings with pops of gray and purple, adding in a sleeveless gray tank top that peeped a white sports bra beneath it.
Facing Backlash Over Photo
Rocking her light locks tied back, Carrie delivered a push-up while lifting one of the two dumbbells she was handling in her first snap. She then shared a garden shot used to promote her 2020-released Find Your Path book, plus a cooking photo and the book’s cover. Carrie had released her book the same year as she founded Fit52.
“I love hearing your fitness and wellness stories you guys continue to share in response to my first book, FIND YOUR PATH, and reading about your journeys to finding your own path. We got this! 💪🏻 @fit52 *link in bio,” a caption read.
Gaining likes as they threw shade was one fan, who replied: “Why would I buy a book from or contribute to a self-centered, deceitful, pompous celebrity???”
“Vainest woman alive..,” another hurtfully said. Meanwhile, a third hater took a swipe at the star’s clothing company, writing: “The Callie [sic] apparel at dicks sporting goods kind of pisses me off. Pretty girls walk like this..love it but what about those girls that don’t feel pretty and don’t walk like that?”
Fortunately, Underwood was met by plenty of supportive responses as fans claimed that her book and her app have helped them on their fitness journey. The “Cry Pretty” singer has now established herself as a fitness authority, and her Fit52 app even includes couples workouts with husband Mike Fisher.
