An Alabama woman confronted her neighbor after one of her dogs left a mess in her yard again. She says it’s just the latest incident in seven years of dealing with the same issue. The comments quickly moved past the confrontation itself and into a debate over how far she should go to fix it.
Posted to TikTok by @itismegee, the video shows dog waste on the creator’s driveway as she calls out to her neighbor. “Can you please get your dogs away from me and get out of my yard.”
The two women go back and forth over the dogs. The Alabama creator makes it clear that she’s not the only resident with an issue. “Everybody in the neighborhood is sick of you,” she says. The neighbor calls her dogs home but does not clean up the mess before the video ends.
The creator’s caption provides some context for the encounter. She says she has spent the last several years dealing with the neighbor and her dogs. According to her, the dogs constantly roam the area, leave waste in yards and bark late at night.
People Had Suggestions
Practical fixes were the first thing a number of commenters offered. “Cayenne pepper keeps dogs out of the yard, I put it in my yard,” one suggested. Another pointed to landscaping as a natural deterrent, with rose bushes or letting stickers grow along the property line to keep the dogs out.
Several viewers pushed the Alabama woman toward more formal action instead. “Girl call the police,” one wrote. Another suggested filing a harassment charge directly.
Some commenters ignored the practical solutions and took their suggestions to a much darker and more concerning place. One described using antifreeze with leftover food and leaving it out, claiming it solved their own problem for good. Others seemingly echoed the same idea more bluntly, suggesting “lacing” the yard outright, or using chocolate, which is toxic to dogs.
That tone didn’t sit well with everyone. “It’s sad people talking about killing the dogs and they seem so sweet and friendly,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “ppl casually talking about taking out dogs is low-key crazy.”
Dog fatigue is real, especially when people have to constantly deal with pets wandering onto their property and owners not cleaning up after them. But there’s a difference between being fed up and suggesting harm to an innocent animal, even as a joke.
