If there’s one thing cuter than a single cat on its lonesome, it’s a duo of cats recreating beloved moments from popular movies. Case in point: TikTok user navidad__ recently shared an incredibly adorable snippet of footage featuring two felines recreating a famous heart-wrenching scene from Disney’s The Lion King.

At the time of writing, the 16-second clip has been watched by over 3.8 million TikTok users, and centers on a pair of moggies emulating one of the saddest scenes from The Lion King movies: the death of Simba’s father, Mufasa.

In it, we see a marmalade cat precariously hanging from a ledge, who obviously portrays the role of Mufasa battling for survival. Meanwhile, stood above, is the wrathful Scar, who looks like he’s been sucking on a lemon, and clearly appears to be uninterested in the fate of his feline brother dangling below him. After hanging on for dear life, poor Mufasa falls to his doom… but don’t worry, the wee feline is absolutely fine!

What really takes this amusing clip to the next level is The Lion King score that accompanies the onscreen action. Not only is it full of epic strings and emotive drama, but it gives the scene a theatrical touch that really ties the footage together.

As expected, the comments section was overflowing with funny reactions from other TikTokers. Up first, we have a humorous remark insisting that the cats were performing IRL:

I refuse to believe they’re not acting ๐Ÿคฃ

Another netizen chimed in with:

we were brother once

Interestingly, some of the comments veered into concern for the cat’s potential safety, because the cat was left hanging for a bit too long:

the cameraman is the real villian

However, many TikTok users brushed off these worries emphasising that the cats are unharmed.

They have 9 lives no worries ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…
