CD Projekt Red knows how much hype is behind Cyberpunk 2077 right now and the team is also aware of the expectations put on the highly-anticipated game. This is what Richard Borzymowski, Cyberpunk 2077‘s producer, said during an interview with MCV.

“We are feeling under pressure but we are taking it as encouragement and we are lucky that what we’re showing to the community is well received. They have given us a certainty that the vision that we had is the right one, is a good one.”

“The approach here is to be transparent. We are showing we’re not making an illusion out of words. We’re sharing what we’re up to…”

Therefore, the main goal of Cyberpunk 2077‘s developers is to avoid to create false expectations around their game. Mostly by maintaining honest communication with the fanbase.

“Very often I think, not only in games, you can also see it for books and the like, you are promising things before the launch without actually showing anything behind it, and you are building up this hype basically just based on words. Even if the product in the end is very good, the hype bar is higher than what you can actually deliver. Even if the end product is very high, people will just be: ‘Oh this is not what I thought it was going to be’.”

CD Projekt Red isn’t Concerned About the Hype Around Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red isn’t worried about the enormous hype that the fans have for Cyberpunk 2077. Though, CD Projekt Red is aware that people are waiting for the game. And the only thing they can do to make it great is to “pour our heart and soul into it”.

“Worrying is not the word… We know that people are waiting for this game. And the only thing we can do – the very same thing we did on The Witcher – is to pour our heart and soul into it.”

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on April 16th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC (it will also be available on Google Stadia sometime in 2020).
