CD Projekt RED has suddenly decided to revisit one of Geralt’s most epic adventures, 10 years after the expansion debuted. The official The Witcher X account announced a ‘special anniversary livestream’ for The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine DLC on May 28 at 5 PM CEST. The stream will be available on YouTube and Twitch, featuring expansion designer Kacper Niepokólczycki and narrative writer Magdalena Zych. While this could simply be a nostalgic look back as excitement builds for The Witcher 4, the timing might suggest that the studio is not done with The Witcher 3 just yet.

Toussaint, the land of love and wine 🍷

Join us on May 28th at 5 PM CEST for a special anniversary stream of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. Together with Kacper Niepokólczycki and Magdalena Zych, we’ll return once more to the land of knights, vineyards, and vampires!

Stream will be live on our YouTube and Twitch channels:

We’ll be waiting for you in Toussaint and in chat!

On paper, of course, a celebration stream itself isn’t particularly unusual. After all, Blood and Wine remains one of CDPR’s most beloved projects, often praised by both fans and critics as one of gaming’s greatest DLCs. But it definitely comes at a curious moment — months after multiple reports suggested the studio could be preparing a completely brand-new expansion for The Witcher 3.

As we previously reported, Polish brokerage firm Noble Securities’ analysis suggested a new The Witcher 3 expansion could arrive sometime in May 2026. Allegedly comparable in scale to Blood and Wine, the firm even estimates that the DLC could be priced at $30 and sell up to 11 million copies. The claim was later supported by Polish gaming outlets PPE.pl and IGN Poland, as talk of a third major expansion for The Witcher 3 had circulated within the region’s gaming industry.

While no details have surfaced yet, outlets believe that this new The Witcher 3 DLC could take place in an eastern desert region called Zerrikania. The name has long existed in the lore, but has never been fully explored in the games. Doesn’t help that references to the area, including ties to the School of the Manticore in Blood and Wine and the Gwent card game spin-off, have only added fuel to the theory.

That said, CDPR’s plans may have changed over the years, potentially swapping Zerrikania with other places like the cold region of Kovir and Poviss, or even something else entirely. Even so, Zerrikania’s arid desert is a more likely candidate for The Witcher 3‘s new 2026 DLC, so as not to overlap The Witcher 4‘s snowy settings.

None of this confirms anything, though, as the anniversary stream could simply be exactly what it sounds like. Just something fun for the fans, with no major surprises attached. Still, between the surprise announcement and Polish reports, CDPR’s sudden return to Toussaint feels extremely suspect.
