Much of what dominates the news cycle these days revolves around celebrity relationships. Take Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as the prime example of a Hollywood pairing that everyone is decidedly sick to death of seeing. Beyoncé and Jay-Z are still going strong, as are Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, but Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny calling it quits last year sent the media into a tailspin.
Swift and Kelce, among others, might be the hottest couple around right now, but they aren’t the most popular individuals in the limelight. In fact, one would argue that the public are collectively ‘over’ the blossoming love story. Thankfully, there are still plenty of downright adorable couples whose romance has been the topic of discussion for years — and certainly not overkill.
Tom Holland and Zendaya
The relationship between English actor Tom Holland and American actress Zendaya dates back as far as 2016 with some of their first images together surfacing on Instagram. From 2017 onwards, Holland and Zendaya would portray Peter Parker and M.J. in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In July 2017, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the duo were dating. It wasn’t until 2021, however, that they publicly addressed rumors of romantic involvement.
Ever since, they haven’t exactly shied away from sharing developments with the public. In February 2024, Holland and Zendaya attended the Dune: Part Two premiere after-party in matching black ensembles. This intercontinental couple stole the hearts of fans seven years ago and the two of them are universally beloved both separately and as Marvel’s ‘It’ couple.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively
Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, dated singer Alanis Morissette in 2002. They became engaged in 2004, but called it quits in 2o07. For a short period, Reynolds dated Scarlett Johansson, Marvel’s Black Widow, and they also got engaged. Reynolds and Johansson called it off in 2010 and that same year, he met Blake Lively on the set of Green Lantern.
They began seeing one another in 2011 and by 2012, they were married. Reynolds and Lively have been going strong ever since and share four children, born 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2023.
Lively recently attended Super Bowl LVIII with her close friend Taylor Swift, who was there to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Reynolds appeared in a promotional video for the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer and playfully captioned an Instagram post with “Has everyone seen the #Deadpool trailer? Also has anyone seen my wife?” Lively is rumored to portray Lady Deadpool in the upcoming third installment, although nothing is set in stone at this time.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt
Horror fanatics will recognize John Krasinski and Emily Blunt from A Quiet Place and its sequel, A Quiet Place: Part II. The pair fittingly portray a husband and wife duo Lee and Evelyn Abbott who, along with their two children, must survive a deadly apocalypse of blind creatures who hunt using only sound.
Blunt was previously in a relationship with Michael Bublé, but began seeing Krasinski in 2008 after a mutual friend introduced them. The following year, they were engaged. They have been happily married since 2010 and share two daughters, born in 2014 and 2016.
In 2015, Blunt became a dual citizen of the U.K. and the U.S. They will both be voicing characters in the upcoming live-action/animated fantasy-comedy IF, directed by Krasinski. Additional voices will be provided by Ryan Reynolds, Fiona Shaw, and Steve Carell. Krasinski made his MCU debut as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but despite fan protest, Blunt has not yet signed to the MCU.
Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor
In early 2015, when Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor began dating, the internet was in shambles after discovering the pair shared a 32-year age gap. The Two and a Half Men star, Holland, told the LGBTQ&A podcast that she identifies as gay and had been dating the Ratched actress for several years.
Paulson’s sexuality has been described as more “fluid” as she had never dated a woman before Cherry Jones, whom she was seeing when she met Holland.
Many publications and fan discussions have alluded to Paulson and Taylor being married, although the pair have neither confirmed nor denied those claims. As we know it, they have never announced a ceremony alluding to marriage. The couple have faced many obstacles relating to their unconventional relationship, but a few setbacks never stopped them from pursuing true love. As one of the most prominent lesbian couples in Hollywood, they have inspired many young people to be their most authentic selves.
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer and reunited again as Fred and Daphne for the 2002 live-action Scooby-Doo. They have co-starred in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Happily N’Ever After, and Star Wars Rebels.
They officially started dating in 2000 and married two years later. They share a daughter and a son together and reside in Los Angeles. In 2007, to commemorate their fifth year of marriage, Gellar legally changed her name to Sarah Michelle Prinze.
Although the couple have kept a fairly low profile for the last decade or so, they were captured enjoying a nice vacation in early January 2024 with family and friends. Prinze Jr. dedicates his social media to promoting his podcast, That Was Pretty Scary, whereas Gellar never misses a beat when posting a heartfelt message to her long-time husband on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other special occasion.
