Chanel West Coast has sparked a storm on Instagram after sharing a sweet boat day video with daughter Bowie Breeze. The MTV star, 36, kept things tender and family-themed last month, taking little Bowie out for a fun day on the water while showing off her figure.
While initial replies to Chanel’s post were positive, users have since pounced on the West Coast Hustle star, accusing her of inappropriately assessing her daughter’s life jacket situation. Chanel, who welcomed Bowie with boyfriend Dom Fenison in 2022, was even deemed a bad mother by one fan, although for some, the comments regarding Bowie’s safety aboard the vessel were excessive. Chanel is followed by over 3 million on Instagram.

Rocking a lemon-yellow bathing suit from her Coasty Swim brand, Chanel low-key highlighted her curves as she sat with Bowie on her lap.
Bobbing along waters as she enjoyed her boat ride, Chanel showed tender moments as she entertained her little munchkin, with fans seeing Bowie outfitted in a one-piece and covered by a protective-looking pink layer of inflatables. Smiling and rocking shades, plus a matching yellow sarong, Chanel looked relaxed and happy, with the footage also including model beau Dom.
In a caption, the Miami-based star wrote: “Best Bday boat day w/ my loves @bowiebreeze & @domfenison .”
“Your daughter needs a Coast-approved life vest they are designed to float the child on their back and roll them over if they are face down in the water and will support their head while on their back you should have a vest on too unless you are an Olympic swimmer.”
Quickly defending the Ridiculousness alum, another replied: “Puddle jumpers are coast guard approved.” While the thought was echoed by multiple users also backing Chanel up, a further fan wrote: “Why would you do that if she cannot swim until help arrives then she takes the baby down with her.“
In a particularly spiteful reply noting Chanel’s status as a music artist, one fan said: “I hope your mothering is better than your singing.” Here, a fan replied that it’s “not that hard to be kind.”
