Popular conservative Charlie Kirk has just been shot at an event he had at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. A short video of the attack has quickly circulated on social media platforms. A shot is then fired, and it looked like it hit Kirk’s neck since his hand reached out to it. A man’s voice can be heard in the background as he says, “Oh my God, run.” Immediately, realization hits the spectators as they realize that the sound they heard was that of a gunshot. Since Kirk was shot, news started spreading about the attack. According to NBC News, Utah Valley University issued an alert to students stating that a suspect is currently in custody. This attack targeted only Kirk since he was the only person shot. As one of Donald Trump’s most outspoken supporters, Kirk has caused a lot of controversy regarding his opinions. Trump himself commented on the attack as he shared on Truth Social, saying, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” According to Deseret News, an older man was arrested, but his name hasn’t been released yet. UPDATE 5:38 PM EST. It has been confirmed that Kirk died due to his wound. The news was confirmed by Trump himself according to CNN. Despite the older man’s arrest, the suspect remains at large.
