Lots of odd incidents have happened at Dollar Tree before, and it appears the latest is a rather concerning crash-out by an Asian woman in Oklahoma, all because the cashier allegedly charged her incorrectly. The resulting meltdown has likely cost the Dollar Tree store quite a lot, as the woman lashed out and basically destroyed several aisles.
The incident occurred around March 19 in a Dollar Tree branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The footage was captured by one of the scared customers who began filming in the middle of the Asian woman’s breakdown. In the clip, you can see her already slapping store items like glass plates and cups from the aisle, refusing to be placated by the store worker, and calling her expletives.
She can also be heard screaming, “You give me my money,” while the cashier was explaining, “Everything was reversed back into your card!” though the Asian woman kept insisting, “Give me my money!” Around the 2:25 mark in the video, the Asian woman can be seen briefly but angrily explaining, “It was $8, and she put down $14,” referring to how the cashier might have punched in the wrong price for the item she bought. This $6 discrepancy led many viewers to assume that it was the trigger for her anger.
Near the end of the video, however, it appears someone older and related to the Asian woman had to pull her away from the store and into the parking lot to prevent further damage. It’s not clear how much damage the Dollar Tree branch incurred or whether the woman responsible cooperated afterward.
People Online Feel Sorry for Everyone Involved
Some of the more sensible comments on the video have pointed out that the woman might be undergoing a mental health crisis, even stating that, “I truly hope she gets the genuine help she needs. It’s easy to judge or snicker and laugh but check on your people. People are struggling bad.”
Of course, other people also felt sorry for the workers in the store, with one commenter claiming, “Lady suffers a mental crisis and tears up a store whose employees likely make a low hourly wage and also have their own personal problems and yet they are the ones who have to deal with this situation AND the clean up afterwards.”
Others were more concerned about how some of the store-goers didn’t do much to stop her from hurting herself or others, “So you mean to tell me nobody in the store couldn’t restrain her lmao,” questions a Facebook user, while another pointed out how nobody wins in these situations, “It makes me sad to see this. Sad for the worker, sad for the mom, sad for the girl… Now the mom will end up paying thousands of dollars. No one wins.”
