Ghouls and goblins, get your most terrifying set of pom-poms ready and get in the holiday spirit, because Bring It On is back! Released earlier today, SYFY gave fans a look at some of the horror projects in the works, and the next iteration of the popular cheerleading series is among them.
Simply titled Bring It On: Halloween, the synopsis is as follows:
Held down by restrictive rules, an embattled cheerleading squad seeks the freedom of a creepy, closed school gym to practice for regionals, but when members of the squad start to disappear, the cheerleaders must unmask their assailant to save themselves.
Bring It On: Halloween will be the seventh film in the franchise, but this is the first departure in genre. The original film came out in 2000 and has been a fan-favorite ever since.
SYFY also commented on the Chucky television series, set to release this fall, and announced a remake of the 80s-classic Slumber Party Massacre. The remake of Slumber Party Massacre is also set to release this year along with a handful of original projects.
Bring It On: Halloween is set for release on “non-threatrical platforms” in 2022. For a more detailed look on what SYFY has in the works for the next two years, check out the full list here.
