Indeed, said clip sees a Chinese tourist hanging dangerously out of a coastal train in Sri Lanka as a cameraman films the daring “perfect shot.” Things don’t quite go to plan, however, when a fast-approaching bush knocks her off balance sending her hurtling from the speeding train. Miraculously, though, the woman survived the accident, and the video was shared to Reddit today.
The 30-second viral clip opens with a picturesque seascape view, replete with a sunset in the background, and is taken from the perspective of a passenger aboard a speeding train. Taking up most of the frame is a woman in a white dress, who is hanging out of the train holding hands with the cameraman. It’s important to note that the train is moving with much speed, as the woman’s hair and dress are billowing wildly due to the strong force of the wind.
Moments after the video starts, however, the woman collides with a bush on the side of the railway track and is knocked off balance causing her to fall from the rapidly moving coastal train. “Oh, oh, oh!” the cameraman shouts in shock as the woman disappears from view.
The shocking incident occurred on December 7, 2024, while the couple travelled between Wellawatte and Bambalapitiya in Sri Lanka. Fortunately, the woman made a narrow escape and remarkably only sustained minor injuries.
With over 22k upvotes and over 1k comments on Reddit at the time of writing, it’s fair to say that the startling footage is making waves across social media platforms at the moment. The bulk of the reactions from the internet were pretty scathing over the woman’s unsafe, daredevil behavior.
