After the unparalleled brilliance that was Avengers: Infinity War, superhero fanatics are very much looking forward to 2019’s Avengers 4. Well, after a few powerful words from Captain America himself, Chris Evans, that anticipation can only grow. At the recent ACE Comic-Con, the 37-year-old actor had nothing but good things to say about the movie.
I mean, I guess all I can say is if Marvel has proven anything it’s just that they know what they’re doing. They know what they’re doing. I don’t think they’ve missed a beat. Their worse mistakes are other studios’ like biggest blessings you know what I mean? Like, they don’t miss, they don’t miss, and they have not missed with this one and it really is just an incredible culmination of this unbelievable tapestry of…I mean, how many individual series is it? Is it like, what six, seven individual parts coming together.
Evans has a point. Whether you like Marvel’s movies or not, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige did work out the flow of the MCU from the get-go. And it all culminated towards Infinity War in a way that was unprecedented in previous major franchises. But that wasn’t the most interesting thing Evans had to say. He also teased the impact that the fourth currently-untitled Avengers film has on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.
In Avengers 4, Evans claims that Marvel “really stick a flag in the ground” and “pull out all the stops so you won’t be disappointed.”
Given that Marvel seemingly went all-out with Infinity War (what with a large chunk of the superhero cast fading into non-existence and the main villain actually winning), it’s mind-boggling to think how the big M could shock us any further.
Evans appears convinced that what Marvel intend to do with Avengers 4 “has never been done before,” and he’s not sure if it will ever be done again.
Whew! Well, that’s some hype you’re cooking up, Mr. Evans! A nice way to make up for his less-than-flattering recent comments. Evans previously described his last lines as Captain America as “stupid” and forgettable. Not sure those execs at Marvel liked that.
Avengers 4 will release in May 2019 (well, probably). In the meantime, keep your eyes on The Nerd Stash for more news on the film as it develops!
