Chris Pratt And Charlie Day Reveal Kids’ Reaction
Chris and Charlie sat down with ET’s Matt Cohen at a press event for the upcoming animated adventure. During the event, the pair discussed what their kids thought of them playing a role in bringing the renowned Mario brothers to the big screen. The upcoming movie is based on the legendary video game franchise.
The dads were particularly excited as they felt good about returning to the “cool dads status.”
“We’re cool again,” Charlie said with excitement. “We’re back into cool dads status.”
Not many kids find their parents cool. However, thanks to their roles in Super Mario Bros, Chris and Charlie’s kids think they are.
“This is a big deal in the Day household. This is no joke this, this gig,” Charlie also added in excitement.
Charlie and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, share an 11-year-old son Russell.

Chris Son Is A Luigi Fan
Chris Pratt, like Charlie Day, also shares a son with his ex-wife Anna Faris. The actor was equally excited that his 10-year-old son Jack believes he’s a cool dad. But Chris’ son is more proud of his dad because he is a Luigi fan.
“Like he plays Smash Brothers and he’s like, ‘Dad, I own at Smash, I own everybody at Smash. And I’m Luigi. I think Luigi is a better player,'” Chris said about his son.
Apparently, Jack is taking sides with Luigi because his dad played the role.
“So he’s always kind of leaning against the characters that I play!”
It has been a childhood dream come true for both Chris and Charlie to play the renowned plumbers-turned-kingdom savers. In contrast to any other role they have played, it also triggers the nostalgia button in their hearts.
Chris specifically noted that he spent thousands of hours playing Super Mario Bros as a child. It is, therefore, quite understandable why the stars are excited about their role and their kids’ reaction to their roles.
