Chrishell Stause and G Flip throw shade at straight people in a message celebrating the queer community on Pride Day and fans deem it disrespectful. Days back, Chrishell took to Instagram to celebrate Pride Day, sharing a short tribute centered around sexual satisfaction. The snap featured Chrishell and G Flip posing together in an elevator, leaning into each other cheekily.
The Selling Sunset star followed up with more snaps showing her and her partner enjoying a feisty elevator smooch. She included a caption suggesting queer couples enjoyed better sexual experiences than straight ones. Chrishell Stause also took a condescending shot at the straight community in her Pride Day post, which read,
“Statistically, queer couples have better sex. Sucks to be straight. HAPPY PRIDE 🌈.”
Chrishell Stause Under Fire for Targeting Straight People in Pride Message
Her remark, however good-intentioned, sparked criticism from netizens, including her queer fans. Many condemned Chrishell Stause for shooting daggers at straight people while expecting them to respect her and the queer community in return. They tagged her post as “disgusting,” and “disrespectful,” demanding she accord others the same respect she expects, rather than operate on double standards. One comment, which garnered almost two thousand likes read,
“I’m gay and married to a woman. I think it’s very disrespectful to say that being straight sucks. You can’t demand respect and be disrespectful at the same time.”
Another read,
“She wants to push her agenda but is insulting those who aren’t like-minded to her current lifestyle. She wants others to be accepting yet is judging straight folks based on her poor choices in the past.”
A third fan, @sandlafrance_ fired,
“But if someone said that to a queer person, it would be the end of the world. Let’s respect both sides.”
Some fans condemned Chrishell Stause for seemingly abusing the sexual freedom she now freely enjoyed because many before her paved the way for LGBTQ Pride.
“She came out at a very easy time. And for her to be able to spit on straight people is not ok. A lot of straight people fought for our rights.”
Selling Sunset Star Defends Her Pride Day Post
As the criticism kept pouring in, the realtor chipped in a comment in her defense. Responding to user @sandylafrance_ who condemned her Pride Day post, Chrishell Stause pointed out that she receives “constant disgusting comments” from straight people offended by her marriage to G Flip. Yet, she always took those disparaging comments in her strides. She went on to dismiss her anti-straight statement as a joke, advising fans to lighten up. Her comment read,
“I get constant disgusting comments from straight people offended by who I love DAILY. I take it on the chin and honestly don’t care and haven’t for 2 years of it. So I disagree. This was a joke. If I ever said to straight people half of what they tell me, they would implode. Everyone needs to lighten up. It’s never that serious .”
In a follow-up post, the star made light of the situation further by making jest of anyone who takes Instagram posts “too seriously.” Notably, Chrishell Stause embraced her queer side wholly when she began dating G Flip in 2022. The couple tied the knot about one year later, and have enjoyed marital bliss since then. Before meeting her nonbinary partner, Chrishell dated Selling Sunset co-star Jason Oppenheim from June 2021 until December of the same year. The end of their romance opened the 42-year-old to new romantic dimensions, and as it turns out, better sexual experiences.
