A peaceful Pride gathering in Oklahoma was interrupted by Christians who came to share the gospel with the attendees. However, their presence was not welcome there. A video posted on Reddit showed several members of the LGBTQ+ community gathered to celebrate Pride Month. They were all dressed colorfully, with some wearing yellow pride-branded shirts and others either waving rainbow-colored fans in the air.
They all formed a crowd around a man dressed in a black shirt, shorts, and sunglasses as he began to preach to them. A member of the gathering approached the man with his arms outstretched, attempting to block him from coming further into the premises.
Unfazed, the Christian continued to speak to them, telling them that Jesus came to earth to save them. Another guy holding camera equipment could be seen recording the chaotic scene. “So, I’ve sinned, I’ve done terrible things. We’ve all sinned, we’ve all done terrible things…. Christ, he loves you. Jesus loves you and he cares about you,” he declared.
The members of the gathering began to interrupt him and talk over him, telling him that he was not welcome there. One could be heard saying, “So Jesus would’ve done this?” Another slammed, “Seriously, man, your shoes are ugly.”
When the preacher continued, saying, “he took the punishment for our sins,” someone in the crowd fired back, “Yeah, he took the punishment for my d*ck.”
The video also garnered several responses from users online who criticized the Christian for his actions. One user wrote, “That dude just left conversion camp,” another commented, “Damn, these zealots LOOOOOVE gay events.”
Another user wondered, “What does he hope to accomplish? Every gay person there to change their minds about their lifestyle?” A netizen recognized the man and revealed he had a YouTube channel.
“This guy does this a lot. He has a channel where he just goes and confronts people, claiming to ‘bring the gospel’ to them. I really dislike Christians like this, and please trust that not all of us are like this,” the comment read.
Sharing similar sentiment, this netizen pointed out that the preacher was being fake. “It’s all just for his phone and the audience beyond it. They’re just covered in the right colors to catch his eye as effortless clout,” the Redditor explained.
A user further criticized the man for trying to force his opinion on them. “You disagree with it, fine. Let these folks be. No need to bring your hate to where they’re gathered and not bothering anyone.”
Luckily, the crowd persisted in their refusal to listen to him, causing him to back away.
