Christina Aguilera is looking slimmer than ever as she debuts her 40-pound weight loss while opening her Las Vegas Residency. The Grammy-winning singer, 42, quickly made headlines for putting on a show-stopping display in Sin City, but heads were also turned as she showcased her slimmed-down silhouette.
Christina once made headlines for turning her back on her super-skinny self and choosing to embrace her curves. Now, the “Beautiful” singer is saying that she’s putting her health and fitness first.
Christina Aguilera Highlights Weight Loss On Instagram
Sharing dazzling stage shots as she rocked figure-flaunting outfits, Christina delighted her Instagram followers with leggy looks, not limited to a plunging, blue and purple bodysuit paired with black thigh boots.
Belting out a number as she was photographed mic-in-hand, Aguilera showcased her whittled-down waistline, also flashing her toned legs as she rocked her signature blonde locks down.
In a separate share, the songstress covered up in a white coat, nonetheless highlighting her weight loss. “Night 1,” she wrote on Monday while glamming up for the camera.
How She Dropped 40 Pounds
For her gallery of Residency images, Christina told her fans: “The first of many midnights with all of you, HAPPY 2024.”
Aguilera once raised eyebrows for appearing to conform to the music industry’s 2000s “skinny” norm. 15 years ago, following the birth of her son, the blonde reportedly shed 40 pounds by eating only 1600 calories per day and following the Rainbow Diet. In 2020, the star claimed to have quiet dieting in favor of balance and listening to her body.
Speaking to Health to mark her 40th birthday in 2020, the former rival to Britney Spears stated:
“Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves. I appreciated having a booty. I’ve always said that women are way more interesting to look at than men! I have a hard time looking at the early pictures of myself because I remember feeling so insecure.”
“I would never want to relive my 20s — you’re so in your own head and finding your confidence. As you age, you stop comparing yourself to other people and start appreciating your own body and owning it,” she added.
