While tattoos tend to be permanent, the motivation behind them may change over time, leaving most rethinking their decisions. Having lived to witness these changes herself, Christina Milian is dishing out thoughtful guides on tattoos fans may want to know before their next ink.
The actress, who has been on the extended journey of removing her tattoos went in for her eighth job this week, taking to Instagram to document the painful process. In the clip, shared to her stories, Christina, donning a white t-shirt, spandex tights, and baseball hat filmed herself closeup as she lay on a tattooing table. She began the video by opening up about the painful process, which she hoped would be her last. The star quipped,
“Guess what guys. I’m back at Laser Way and I’ll be removing my tattoo once again. this is probably like… my eighth or ninth session. I think it might be my last. I’m just tired of it. It hurts so bad. I’ll say this, if it looks better next time, then maybe I’d do it again. Cos it looks like a blob of colors right now. Wish me luck.”
After letting fans in on her thoughts on the process, Christina Milian went right into the tattoo removal, pulling up her clothes to expose her lower back. Upon confirming the singer’s readiness, the laser operator commenced the treatment to remove her lower back tattoo. Throughout the process, the Dip It Low singer struggled to hold back her screams and grimaces, with her facial expressions revealing the extent of her pain.
Christina Dishes on the Downsides of Getting Inked
Thankfully, Christina Milian made it through the entire process without breaking down on camera. At the end of the procedure, the star, still lying on the treatment table addressed fans once again. This time, she wore dark sunglasses over her eyes, perhaps in a bid to conceal the signs of redness or puffiness from hours of pain. She described the procedure as “the worst,” adding a note of warning to fans,
“That’s it. More painful than getting a tattoo. If you’re gonna make that decision, make it a lifetime decision, or else, this.”
Christina finished off the video by giving a glimpse of the finished work on her lower back, where the colorful crown heart tattoo once lay. The star’s back tattoo initially featured a lion heart. However, she updated it sometime in 2016, making some abstract drawings to cover up the lion. In recent years, the icon has embraced some lifestyle changes, which has resulted in her losing some of her tattoos over time. Eight sessions down and the famed back tattoo is about to get the boot as well, erasing one more inked memory.
