It feels like just yesterday I covered Remnant’s final DLC, Subject 2923. That DLC may not have been perfect, but it was a fitting end to Remnant: From the Ashes that brought things to a satisfying end. It’s a great game and set of DLC, and I couldn’t recommend it more. Especially for those who snagged the free promotion off of the Epic Games Store a few weeks ago. Now, Gunfire Games are looking to bring a little known but fan-favorite VR game over to PC and consoles. Chronos: Before the Ashes releases on December 1st for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch. The official reveal trailer can be found below, and it’s quite beautiful.

Chronos: Before the Ashes, as the name implies, takes place before the events of Remnant: From the Ashes. Take on the role of a young hero looking to save his home from an evil long forgotten. You’re sent to the labyrinth, which is filled with nasty creatures and other abominations. It’s your only way to fight back against this madness though, which means a long road ahead. Combat is unforgiving, while puzzles serve to challenge you in ways you couldn’t imagine. Those who fail can return to the labyrinth, but only after their character has aged a year. As you grow older, some combat skills grow weaker but others grow ever stronger. How you manage to make do with these changes is up to you.

For those with VR headsets, chances are you’ve already played Chronos at one point or another. It’s regarded highly among VR enthusiasts, some even considering it their favorite VR game to date. It’s going to function a lot differently to its VR counterpart but should prove more challenging and fun accordingly. I’m excited about Chronos, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on the news. Did you even play Chronos in VR? What do you think of the Remnant series itself? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
