There’s been a tremendous amount of interest in cyberpunk related things lately, thanks in part to the imminent Cyberpunk 2077. Many developers have taken a stab at creating cyberpunk games, but ION Lands are the latest to try it. ION, along with publisher Merge Games (Moonlighter, Valfaris) have announced today that Cloudpunk, their upcoming open-world role-playing game, will be releasing this year. The game will be available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch with PC getting the title in early 2020.

Cloudpunk is a unique type of RPG having you play as Rania, a delivery driver working for Cloudpunk. You must traverse across the beautiful city of Nivalis, delivering packages both of legal and illegal natures. Along the way, you’ll meet a lot of different characters with their own unique stories and quests. What decisions will you make, and what part will you play in changing Nivalis forever?

Cloudpunk

On the surface, this may seem a little generic, but what makes it interesting is the thought put into it. Each character in Cloudpunk has their own unique stories that are promised to captivate you and immerse you in their lives. Not only that, but the environments look beautiful and are worth exploring. The game is created in a voxel style, which is something that so few developers have attempted. It’s something that feels unique and will captivate you from the moment you begin. This is all combined with how vibrant the world will look. The developers say that the world has a lot of depth, with much diversity in different locations.

From what’s been shown, they seem trustworthy. We’ll have to wait till release to know for sure, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated. If you want to learn more about the game and join 85,000 other wishlists, you can read more on their Steam page. What do you think of Cloudpunk so far? Will you be keeping an eye out for its release?
