According to the contract, Coachella will get the punishment they deserve by paying a fine of $117k to the city of Indio for breaking curfew. The music and art festival held in the City of Indio failed to stick to the initial agreement.
Coachella has held its music and art festival for several years. Usually, this annual event hosted in the City of Indio attracts a handful of celebrities. This year was not an exception. Lewis Hamilton, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Legend, and Camilla Cabello all attended the event. The performing artists also included Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean, among others.
In 2013, Coachella signed a contract with Indio that would last till 2050. And the issue of a curfew was highlighted in earlier agreements. Initially, there was a curfew that rang in at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays but at 11 pm on Sundays. But it was adjusted by an hour.
Coachella was aware of the curfew, and the organizers must have relayed it to their performers. The singer to close the show on Sunday night was Frank Ocean. He hopped on stage around 11 pm and performed for two hours. While fans were still gearing for him to go on, the singer said:
“Guys I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of the show.”

Coachella To Pay $117K Fine For Breaking Curfew In The City of Indio
As stated earlier, the curfew agreement was adjusted. Indio has a curfew lasting from Fridays to Sundays. On the first two days, it is 1 am. But on Sundays, the curfew is set at midnight.
However, Coachella missed not one or two but all three. Sources claimed the event lasted 25 minutes after the curfew on Friday. The next day, the festival continued for 22 minutes. Lights out on Sunday was recorded 25 minutes after the set curfew.
TMZ got in touch with a rep for the City of Indio. From the horse’s mouth, we hear that Coachella’s curfew fine is $117,000. This was a figure the City arrived at after the end of the weekend festival.
The payment is a contract between Indio and Goldenvoice. According to the agreement, the daily fine is $20,000, which starts counting immediately after the curfew. However, five minutes later, there is another $1,000 for every minute spent.
The city will receive the money through Indio’s General Funds. Eventually, it will be used to make life in the city better. The police and fire departments will benefit from the funds.
