Getting the sack from your employer is never an easy experience. Not only is it a very emotional time, but it can also be incredibly stressful. Having been laid off from several jobs over the course of my life, my main piece of advice would be to stay positive and give yourself some time to process it all. What I would advise against, however, is to lose your cool and get violent with your colleagues. Seriously, that’s just a recipe for disaster.
Case in point, a physical altercation occurred between a coffee shop employee and her colleagues because she lost her job at an airport. Instead of keeping her chin up and staying positive, she lost her temper and physically assaulted her fellow workers. The incident was captured on camera and shared to Reddit earlier today for the whole world to witness. Do note that the footage below contains explicit language and violence.
The disturbance took place in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport, and the footage was specifically captured in a Harvest & Grounds coffee shop. The viral clip begins with the woman — who has since been identified by police as Shacoria Elly — attempting to throw punches at one of her colleagues. She then tries to pick up a chair to use as a weapon, but her colleague manages to disarm her.
The physical altercation continues to escalate as she then focuses her attention on one of her other co-workers. Elly tries to run past her fellow worker, but he blocks her attempt and throws her to the ground. “What the f*** do you think you’re doing?” yells one of her colleagues. In the background, you can hear onlookers say, “What is happening?” and “Somebody call 911“.
While one of her co-workers attempts to shepherd Elly away from the premises, she punches her colleague right in the face. The incident culminates in one of the coffee shop workers crying out, “Somebody’s on the phone to the police, right?“
While the incident occurred on January 16, 2024, the footage is being circulated across the internet right now. With over 12k upvotes and 896 comments, it’s fair to say that the clip has piqued the interest of the internet. One Redditor chimed in with,
A second commenter added, “Now instead of having a job, you get jail time!“
Another hugely upvoted comment came in from a netizen writing, “Going from $7.25 an hour to $0 an hour, losing her car, apartment, all her belongings and going to jail for assault and battery, damage to property, etc… and becoming homeless because of it. This will prevent future employment. If you get fired, go home. It’s not worth it…“
Interestingly, when police arrived to the scene, Elly was no where to be seen. From what we can gather, Elly was not charged by police for the shocking incident, which allegedly transpired over an argument over espresso shots.
