One quiet, small town neighborhood in Summit County, Colorado, grew more interesting (and cleaner) after a woman reported an unknown man throwing bags of dog excrement at her house. The complaint has led to the hunt for the mysterious poop vigilante around Silverthorne. However, the twist is that whole neighborhood might be on the poop vigilante’s side as the woman who filed the complaint was supposedly notorious for leaving her dog’s poop all over the town.
The report came from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado and the Denver Gazette. The unnamed woman even claimed to have captured the perpetrator in the act of throwing poop at her yar via security footage. The woman also suspected that one of her neighbors could be the poop vigilante.
Despite the frequency of the attacks over the past month and the security footage, no suspect has been identified yet. The primary suspect pointed at, another woman, sadly didn’t match the description of the man in the security footage who has since been dubbed as the “mysterious poop chucker” according to Denver Gazette.
Investigations surrounding the complaint are still ongoing, with the police interviewing the immediate neighborhood. Some of the woman’s neighbor’s however, have noted that she has earned the ire of the town because she has consistently failed to pick up her dog’s poop, presumably during walks.
One neighbor has claimed the existence of an unknown man in their area who is on a vengeful crusade against people who don’t clean the excrement their dogs leave behind. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has thus informed the aggrieved woman that the vigilante has likely been targeting her house because of her reputation.
What Goes Around Comes Around
While the investigation is still ongoing, it’s possible that the culprit might have stopped already after the woman got the message, thanks to the help of the police. Still, people online have taken the side of the Colorado poop vigilante as well.
Some have stated the obvious, arguing that the vigilante’s actions are justified since not only did they clean the neighborhood, but also returned the dog poop at the woman’s house– its rightful place. Someone had to do it, because the woman didn’t want to clean up after her dog, apparently. Hence, statements like those below have become popular opinion.
“Incredible. She has been leaving dog poop all over the place but when it happens to her, she calls the f**king police. Also, no one is throwing poop at her. They are cleaning up the dog shit she left around and leaving it in her yard,” says Redditor amateur_mistake
“Simply a good samaritan returning her lost property,” replies Redditor skullmuffins
“Good,” says Redditor bytemybigbutt
