There are certain professions that people tend to dislike at first sight, and one of the most widely disliked in recent years is the reseller. Many shoppers already get frustrated when resellers buy up all the stock of a popular item only to relist it at a much higher price. But one reseller’s behavior has pushed that frustration to a new level. In Colorado, a recent incident left both customers and bystanders stunned after a man completely lost control inside a store simply because Pokémon cards weren’t being sold early.
For those who might not be familiar, Pokémon isn’t just an iconic video game and animated series. It also has a massively popular trading card game. Some cards are so rare that they can be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Because of that, resellers closely watch every new release, hoping to get their hands on fresh stock before anyone else. In this case, the Colorado reseller apparently hoped to buy cards from a newly released expansion. Unfortunately for him, the store wasn’t putting the cards out ahead of the official release time.
That was enough to send the man into a full meltdown. A passerby who happened to be near the aisle captured the entire outburst on video. The man started by shoving over a table filled with merchandise, sending items crashing to the floor. Still fuming, he moved on to a nearby shelf and pulled it down as well, scattering even more products across the aisle. Store employees were drawn to the noise, though they kept their distance and didn’t attempt to intervene. Another shopper simply continued browsing, pretending not to notice the chaos unfolding just a few feet away.
The video ends with the Colorado man still pacing around the mess he created. It’s unclear whether the police were eventually called, but online users didn’t hesitate to voice their disgust. Many condemned the reseller’s childish behavior, calling it yet another example of why people are increasingly fed up with resellers in general. One commenter wrote, “Resellers are literally the worst. They buy everything, mark it up, and then throw tantrums when they don’t get what they want.”
Other commenters shared their own frustrations with reseller culture. One person said they stopped collecting Pokémon cards entirely because resellers constantly cleaned out stores. Another user, who works in retail, explained that they regularly get harassed while stocking trading cards. “I had people crowding around me trying to peek in product boxes and grab things before I even finished pricing them,” they wrote. “And then they got an attitude when I told them to back up.”
