Colorado Governor Jared Polis recently denied having any links to Peter Thiel’s secretive Dialog group after a leak showed his name associated with it. Following this, Colorado residents have been fairly critical of Polis online, as many do not seem to believe he is telling the truth.
As reported by Westword, a recently leaked directory lists 113 individuals with connections to Dialog, and Jared Polis’ name appears on the list. Often described as an “Illuminati”-like group, Dialog is an ultra-exclusive, invitation-only private social network that brings together wealthy and influential people and hosts annual retreats.
According to a 2025 Axios article, Polis participated in an event last year where attendees discussed “AI’s energy demands, the future of health care, and political realignments.” The governor’s spokesperson, Eric Maruyama, however, reportedly denied the allegations, stating that Polis does not acknowledge any connection to the organization.
Colorado Residents Remain Unconvinced of Polis’ Denial
Multiple Colorado residents criticized Governor Jared Polis over his alleged participation in the group. One said, “This guy’s day in politics should be over.” Others argued that “he doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. Sorry, Jared.”
One reason many remained skeptical was explained by one user: “Let’s get absolutely clear on one thing. It isn’t a name drop. It was a hardcoded list of attendees and members in Dialog’s website HTML code. I would very much like to know why our Governor is hanging out with billionaires at private conferences.”
Someone else replied, however, that “technically it doesn’t show that he went or was involved, only that someone applied for him to be part of this group. That being said, I’m pretty damn sure he’s lying and he is involved with Thiel in some way. Rich people are friends with other rich people, and Polis is pretty rich.”
The speculation led some users to go even further, with one alleging that “his clemency for Tina Peters was a clear nod to Thiel. Just another pathetic crooked politician. Such a disappointment.” However, the user did not provide any solid proof of that claim. Others criticized him as well, saying, “That also explains why he’s pushing so much insane [expletive] through at the end of his term.”
In any case, the end of Jared Polis’ term has been anything but uncontroversial, and this is just the latest image crisis faced by the Colorado governor, who came under fire after pardoning Tina Peters earlier this year.
