We’ve seen many unexpected situations involving animals, but one of the most recent ones to be recorded borders on a Romeo & Juliet situation involving an allegedly drunk woman and a deer who seemed unresponsive. If this sounds like a mouthful or too unbelievable, well, the next video might convince you because a poor lady from Basalt, Colorado, almost had a panic attack and went full drama mode after thinking she had fatally hit a deer. However, that wasn’t the case, as the deer was, well, see for yourself.
The video, originally posted by the one involved in the incident, shared her dramatic, unexpected, and shocking encounter with a deer. The video begins with a close-up shot of the lady’s face, who says, “I am actually going to k*ll myself,” with a teary and worried face. Then, she moves the camera to film a deer on the ground, which we assumed she hit with her vehicle in the middle of an empty road in Colorado, as we can see the car behind the deer.
Before moving the camera to frame her house, the deer stand on its four legs, and the woman replies with a “Bro…” After the moment of silence, the lady moves her hand toward the deer, asking if it’s okay. She tries to pet the deer, which just remains standing still as if it were frozen, but, miraculously, the deer moves its head. The lady then says in a dramatic fashion, “Oh my God, I love you,” but at this point, the deer turns around and runs into the dark.
The truth is that this story is shocking, hilarious, way too dramatic, and unexpected in many ways. And yes, this is also what many Redditors believe, as they quickly compared it to a modern Romeo & Juliet, or as many are dubbing it, “Doemeo & Juliet.”
“I watched this with no audio, and this is basically a surrealist masterpiece short film,” commented SharpPink_GlitterInk.
“Deer.exe is rebooting,” said Fr05t_B1t.
While this is certainly funny in a few ways, many are just wondering if the woman was drunk, especially due to her way of talking, which led to her hitting the poor animal. Others believe that she shouldn’t have petted it after it woke up, while others are just seeing this as the greatest short film of 2026. In any case, we’re just glad to see the deer is okay, and hopefully made its way back safely to the woods.
