A woman in Colorado who appears to be hunting for love unconventionally may have stirred up a hornet’s nest online. The woman sparked public outrage when she came on TikTok to announce that she would like viewers to help her track down a man she spotted at a cafe in Denver. The man was not only minding his business, but he was also on a date with another woman.
“So I was at Hello Darling in Denver this morning, and I witnessed a first or second date. Had to have been an early date, and I wish this couple nothing but the best. However, if this man is still single, I would like to throw my hat in that ring,” she said in the video.
According to her, the man had introduced himself as Cody to someone sitting close enough for her to hear his name. He had tattoos and a mustache. “I mean, this is creepy in itself, but I’m not on the apps, and I feel like it was an early date. So this is just me shooting my shot to Cody in Denver,” she said.
She described her situation as a “missed connection.”
Netizens Ripped Her to Shreds
The video clearly wasn’t received the way she may have wanted it to. Many netizens criticized her, pointing out that the man had clearly been there with another woman. “Ohhh NOT a girls girl… Got it ✍️🏼,” one person wrote. “Cody, if you’re reading this.. PLS DON’T 🫶🏻,” another said. “This is not how a missed connection works. This is you trying to step on someone else’s connection,” a third commented. “May this level of desperation never find me,” someone else added.
Despite the backlash she was receiving, the woman argued in another video that the couple looked like they were still getting to know each other, which did not necessarily make them exclusive. “It’s interesting to me that people think that someone that they go on a first or second date with owes them exclusivity. For me, I am not exclusive with someone until that conversation is had,” she said.
She added that she would not want to interfere if the man was already in a relationship, but if they weren’t, “I find him attractive, why not shoot my shot, you know?”
Viewers, however, continued to question her logic. “So if youre on a first date and hes single can I throw my hat in your ring?” one comment asked. “He was there because he was clearly interested in her… let them be?” another netizen chimed in.
