You can go ahead and add Colton Haynes to the ever-growing list of people coming back for Arrow’s last run. This comes from Entertainment Weekly, who reports that Haynes will have a recurring role throughout Arrow’s eighth and final season on The CW network.

Showrunner Beth Schwartz later confirmed this news on Twitter:

So happy @ColtonLHaynes is back! https://t.co/wNabtXh36c

Colton Haynes has been around Arrow since season one as Roy Harper. Roy would grow from his criminal background and eventually join Team Arrow alongside Oliver Queen, John Diggle, and Felicity Smoak. He used his expert (and somewhat unnecessary) parkour skills along with what he learned from Oliver to become the red-hooded vigilante known as Arsenal. Unfortunately, due to very serious personal issues, Haynes left the series in season 3 and was written out of the show.

Despite his sad but understandable exit, Haynes’ Roy Harper has remained one of the more popular characters throughout Arrow’s 7-year run. In season 7, Haynes returned full-time in the flash-forwards and the present-day scenes. His uncontrollable bloodlust from a short stint in a Lazarus Pit between seasons 6 and 7 was one of the few big loose ends after the season 7 finale earlier this year. Thankfully, it looks like we’ll see an end to Roy’s storyline during the final season.

Haynes joins an extremely long-running list of returning stars who will appear in Arrow season 8 including Willa Holland (Thea Queen), Colin Donnell (Tommy Merlyn), Josh Segarra (Adrian Chase), Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen), and Byron Mann (Yao Fei Gulong).

Luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer for Arrow’s grand return as the final season will premiere October 15th on The CW.
