Command and Conquer: Remastered now has an official release date. On June 5th, EA, in partnership with Petroglyph Games, is releasing a full collection of classics. The collection will include such titles as Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, and Covert Ops. Since Westwood Studios was officially closed by EA some time ago, RTS fanatics have been waiting for this moment in gaming history.

Command and Conquer: Remastered

The fmvs certainly hit a soft spot for long-time series fans. They’ll be happy to know that the visuals have a fantastic upgrade. While the acting in the videos was undoubtedly cheesy, it was a lot of what made the series popular. And Command and Conquer: Remastered brings it all back in HD glory. Personally, I think the live-action cutscenes were a nice touch. Other titles at the time were lacking at the time of initial release. Those who purchase the collection also get never before seen footage.

Not only will the titles have a graphic overhaul, but the original composer of ‘Hell March,’ Frank Klepacki, had a hand in bringing back the popular series music. You’ll also get the above ‘jukebox’ in order to make a soundtrack of your favorite songs from the series.

Those wanting to purchase Command and Conquer: Remastered on Steam for as low as $19.99. If you’re going to get a physical copy of the collection, you can purchase either the $60 option or the $150 one from Limited Run Games.

With the addition of ‘elo-based’ matchmaking, players won’t have to worry about whether or not they can take on opponents. The better you do in online matches, the better you’ll have to be as you rank up. You’ll also be able to replay the best and worst moments from your recent matches.

Look for Command and Conquer: Remastered this June 5th on Steam.
