Remedy Entertainment’s newest game, Control, just launched last week to rave reviews, but it doesn’t look like the developer is settling down any time soon. While we know there are two major expansions coming, it looks like details have emerged courtesy of the game’s debug tools.

YouTuber ManFightDragon found some interesting information about Control using the developer debug menu, a series of tools that allows developers to skip around the game, and change stats such as health and power. In the video, ManFightDragon shows off the power of the debug menu by playing around with various shaders. What is most interesting, however, is the ability to jump to different missions in the game. It’s there where the DLC plans might have spoiled a bit of the surprise.

A bit of text, around the 5:20 mark, shows the name “St01_MM_04_Marshall_START_Plus_PS4_SM15_Dlc”. What does this mean? Well, while it’s not confirmed that it is a part of any DLC, the tag at the end of the name is what has made fans wonder. The text mentions one of the characters featured in Control, Marshall. In Control, Marshall is the head of security at the Oldest House. A few missions after meeting her, she does disappear. Another character does mention what she may be up to, but it’s only a small hint.

PC Gamer, who first reported on ManFightDragon’s video, does make mention during Control’s preview phase, there was a mission titled “Marshall,” but it is not featured in the final game. This isn’t a confirmation that Remedy cut content to utilize at a later date though, this could be a leftover bit of text during development. Regardless, this does seem to indicate that Marshall either had a bigger role in Control’s main story or that she will be featured more in the future.

When we reviewed Control, we called it “creepy” and featured “addicting combat,” but had “performance issues” before awarding it a four out five. You can read our entire review here.

What do you think of this leak? Are you excited about possibly finding out more about Marshall? What did you think of Control? Let us know in the comments below.
