Controversial Black Ops 6 Zombies Map Has Changed As The CoD Next Reveal Was Only ‘Work In Progress’

Community’s voice, heard

After the not-well-received Vanguard and MW3 Zombies, Black Ops 6 looks to be our last hope for the epic return of this game mode, and thankfully, Treyarch has been listening to us for that. While Terminus Island moved the whole Zombies community, the second map for the undead part of Black Ops 6 got involved in controversial stories as it looked so much like Warzone and Multiplayer. Turns out that Liberty Falls has changed since Call of Duty Next 2024, and there are even more positive shifts coming to BO6 Zombies.

Call of Duty has been hosting episodes of a new podcast called the COD POD, during which the developers at Treyarch are interviewed for more details on their newest craft. During the past two segments, we got more news on the Campaign and multiplayer, and even MrDalekJD, a prominent Call of Duty Zombies YouTuber and content creator, was featured in the second episode!

On the newest and third episode of the COD POD, the words sound like music to Call of Duty fans’ ears, as we hear the return of Nuketown and the changes in the mood and atmosphere of the Liberty Falls map. For fans on Reddit, that’s the most important issue there was with this controversial round-based Black Ops 6 Zombies map, which is now under change and will look “different” from what we saw in CoD Next 2024, as that in the reveal event was only “work in progress” with many influential options turned off.

Speaking of round-based Zombies, it has been confirmed that upon getting two launch maps of Terminus Island and Liberty Falls, the third map is coming no later than Season 1. This means that around 3 weeks after October 25, we will have another Zombies map to enjoy killing the undead in.

One last thing revealed in this episode of COD POD was the changes that’d be coming to the Black Ops 6 Zombies interface, as “a few of the HUD elements in Zombies are also getting touched up.” This wasn’t at the center of attention, but a HUD that looks like Warzone isn’t really what we’d love and enjoy in Zombies. So, again, Treyarch has heard our voices, and we’ll have to wait and see what changes they’ve made to Liberty Falls, and the BO6 Zombies HUD.
