The energetic atmosphere in Black churches in Texas appears to be perfectly matched with this grandma’s vibes, after she attended a service and couldn’t contain her excitement. For her, church was no longer a place to nap; it was an experience to truly enjoy.
In a hilarious video posted on TikTok, the grandma was seen standing by the window of a car while someone inside recorded her, asking her to recount her church experience. “It was great and awesome, man, and I think I was the only white Honky in there,” she said jokingly, describing her time at the Black church she attended. “Why do you like it?” the person recording asked.
She explained that they truly knew how to preach God’s word and that the service wasn’t boring at all. “White churches put you to sleep,” she exclaimed. “Black churches keep me awake because they got more action in them.” She emphasized her point with enthusiasm. She went on to list even more reasons for her enjoyment, including dancing, singing, and, without leaving anything out, the “ton of food to eat.” She affirmed that Black churches truly deliver good gospel.
The joyful video quickly went viral, with her excitement proving contagious across social media. “And she will forever be welcome!” one person wrote. Another agreed, saying, “The energy of the worshippers is what pulls you in. I agree.” A third commenter joked, “Them ‘dinnnerrs’ had some good seasoning on them that she wasn’t used to, lol.
