Crazy Arizona Man Turns Flooded Streets Into Kayak Adventure: ‘Filthy Water, But At Least He Wore a Helmet’

Heavy rains can sometimes drastically affect our plans and routines. Rain makes it difficult to leave the house or go to work; many places close, and traffic often becomes very complicated in the cities. However, this person from Arizona took advantage of the heavy rains that raised the water level to use their kayak in the floodwaters. Say whatever you want about this person, but we can’t deny that they are very creative, and surely they never find a moment to be bored.

It rains for a couple do hours in the valley…

Redditor Jew_C shared an “incredible” video on r/phoenix. In the video, a person is using their kayak in floodwaters that originated after heavy rains in Phoenix, Arizona. To be honest, just seeing the person’s somewhat blurry but happy face makes me want to try urban kayaking.

‘Hell yeah. Not every day you can hit up your local urban wash for some class III-IV rapids,’ commented Trails_and_Coffee.

Obviously, this is not recommended because the river doesn’t only contain rainwater. Still, it also contains mixed sewage water and excessive trash, which can be highly hazardous.

‘I’d classify these as HIV rapids,’ joked rebuked_nard.

One of the users, who claims to be a kayaking enthusiast, explains that this action is even more foolish than it appears. This is because the water level is still too low for kayaking. So there is a high probability of hitting a rock on the bottom and suffering a serious accident.

Fortunately, user disharmony-hellride noticed a very important safety detail in the video, saying, ‘I mean, I wouldn’t do it, but at least he wore a helmet in the filthy water.’

‘Had a girlfriend that swam in a bunch of floodwater like this years back. She had to be hospitalized after she contracted E Coli‘ said Moderately-ashamed.

Fortunately, the floodwater pushed the person out of the riverbed, and hopefully, they didn’t continue on their journey. For this, it’s always worth remembering that it’s never a good idea to enter a river with a strong current. This is dangerous even for experts. It is even worse if the watercourse has been contaminated with trash, which can hold even more viruses and bacteria. So, never try something like this at home, even if you have all the necessary protections for such a stunt. Just never do it, please. Appreciate your life so much that it will be long and of good quality.
