Sometimes, people with serious anger issues need to learn to chill. And that’s definitely what Florida man Quinson Croson needed to do after being told, “Bro, chill!” multiple times before making the mistake of his life. It was around 5:30 in the morning, and the 46-year-old had just gotten into an argument with a garbage truck driver outside a gas station. Instead of letting it go or going home and sleeping it off, Croson decided to chase after the driver and escalate things to an extreme, life-threatening level.
While the angry Florida man likely already had violent intentions against the garbage man, it wasn’t until the driver called him “silly” that drove him over the edge. Not wanting to escalate the verbal argument, the garbage truck driver told Croson to “chill” before driving off. The 46-year-old was anything but, as he aggressively drove after his victim before ultimately shooting him in the arm and violently smashing his SUV into the garbage truck. Shooting someone for being called “silly” and told to go home is another level of no self-control. “For whatever reason, the suspect took that as some sort of disrespect,” Zephyrhills police told WFLA.
“Dudes with fragile egos are the worst,” remarks a commenter on YouTube, to which hundreds agreed. It’s one thing to get upset over something, and it’s another degree of derangement to get violent or attempt murder over it. “They must have been talking trash,” quipped another viewer. “Firefighters and now Garbage Men what has our world come to,” noted a third. A quick reminder: several firefighters were ambushed by a wild gunman in Idaho. Of all the people to attack, harming first responders or city workers certainly has its place in hell — and prison while they’re still alive.
Fortunately, the garbage man and his partner escaped the traumatic incident with no fatal injuries. As for Croson, he was arrested and charged with “two counts of attempted homicide and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.” It should come as no surprise to anyone that he’s also a “convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Florida law,” according to Fox13. It was only a matter of time before he went back to his rightful place behind bars, especially seeing how he had a gun when the gas station argument went down.
