We all know that proposing to someone is a big deal, and when asking the question, people have to do it in the most impressive and romantic way possible. However, there are some situations when some couples might take things a bit too far and do it in odd places. For example, a couple from Georgia decided to get engaged in a Kay Jewelers store. While there’s nothing wrong with it, many wonder if the situation was cute or cringeworthy, as the man proposing burst into singing and even had a cameraman to comment on the whole event.
The video was shared by a TikTok user who filmed a couple getting engaged inside a Kay Jewelers store in Georgia. In it, we see the man proposing to his soon-to-be wife in a musical way.
Before getting on his knee, he starts singing, in a very impressive way, we must add, before asking the question and placing the ring on the woman’s hand. The truth is that the whole situation is extremely romantic, and it seems the couple and those around them enjoyed it a lot. Still, a few believe the place might not have been the best, but we are no one to judge how someone proposes to another person.
What we can discuss, though, is the cameraman. As you can clearly hear, the one filming decided to throw in a few comments as the man sang to his now fiancée, and many thought he killed the vibe for the couple and for us watching the situation unfold.
The cameraman interrupts the singing at times, spouting a few words related to the song, but the cherry on top is how he starts saying, “The store makes dreams come true,” as if the store were now planning couples’ engagements or something of the sort. At one point, he even tries to pretend the store and the couple will celebrate together, saying, “We’re opening Don Julio,” which is a tequila brand for those who don’t know.
In any case, it seems the consensus is that the man’s actions were pretty romantic, despite the unorthodox place. And the other thing everyone agreed on is that the cameraman should have kept quiet, as he ruined the moment for many.
“The camera guy’s comments were unnecessary. Congrats to the couple.” – Thelilymoon via Reddit.
“‘We’re opening Don Julio,’ you don’t even know them!” – MK via TikTok.
In the end, all we can say is congratulations to the couple. Frankly, this was a very wholesome proposal. However, we can only hope that the next couple proposing chooses a different store, because the cameraman might be a bit too much.
