As I feel I’ve run through in several pieces of coverage here, Crysis is a series that has lived near and dear to my heart. After replaying the series earlier this year, I quickly remembered how much I loved both their stories and their action sequences, with Prophet being among one of my favorite characters in video games (don’t worry, Psycho’s up there too). And now, it seems it’s my time to re-experience the true modern classics. Crysis Remastered Trilogy has officially released on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles! Check out the launch trailer below.
A press release from the team at Crytek describes this trilogy as follows:
Crysis Remastered Trilogy features all the series’ famous action-packed gameplay and thrilling battles in sandbox levels updated with improved lighting and visually enhanced characters, weapons, and environments, plus high-definition textures for crystal-clear images. The remasters are optimized towards PC and next-generation consoles for substantial performance gains. For instance, the original games played at an average 720p resolution and up to 30 FPS; the remasters for PC,
Xbox Series X, and PlayStation®5 play between 1080p and 4K at up to 60 FPS for beautiful, crisp gameplay.”
With Crysis Remastered already available for some time, you may be wondering if you have to pay full price for the Crysis Remastered Trilogy. Luckily, I’m happy to say the team has found a workaround. Crysis 2 and 3 Remastered can be purchased separately at $29.99 each, meaning you don’t need to fork over the cash for the first installment as well. There’s also a sizeable discount if you already purchased Crysis Remastered! It’s a small thing, but those who own the previous installment should feel pleased by this news.
