Regardless of who you are or where you currently are, there is never an excuse to get angry at a service worker. There are some reasons, but there shouldn’t be when the issue is genuinely beyond the employee’s control. A man in New York realized just how foolish he was trying to yell at a McDonald’s employee, only to realize that her husband was standing in line. This is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t assume that no one is going to stand up to rude behavior.
The video above depicts a white man at a McDonald’s in New York, seemingly after he has already ordered his food from the front counter. He appears to be leaning over the counter, having cut others in line, to say something angrily at a female employee. Just after he says it, however, a different man in line speaks up, asking him what the problem is.
The white man appears startled when confronted about his behavior. He attempts to defend his actions, but as the camera pans around the home of the world’s best chicken nugget, it’s evident that others do not share his perspective. As the camera continues to move through the restaurant, we see the man trying to approach the employee’s husband, though he seems visibly frightened. Honestly, I believe he has reason to be scared.
Many other commenters share this sentiment. One of the most liked replies states, “his wife in the back standing there smiling at her man ðŸ˜.” I would be smiling, too, if the love of my life were defending me against the criticisms of a random stranger.
Unfortunately, this type of behavior is all too common when it comes to service workers. It seems that people think that they can as anyone to jump, fully expecting them to reply with, “how high?” I’m genuinely surprised the video didn’t end in a fistfight before cutting out.
