The CW is planning on rolling out an all-star cast list with the newly-imported series adaptation of “Sullivan’s Crossing” by Robyn Carr; the upcoming drama series will reportedly be full of familiar faces from other CW programs, with the list including Scott Patterson (“Gilmore Girls”), Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill”), and Morgan Kohan (“Batwoman“), among other names.
“Sullivan’s Crossing” will see the CW pairing with CTV, the Canadian series’ current home, to bring the drama, based on Robyn Carr’s best-selling five-part series of the same name, to US audiences; the series will follow Morgan Kohan as Maggie, a star neurosurgeon whose big-city practice is doing great, up until her partner is charged with fraud, and she’s facing down negligence charges. Disgraced, Maggie returns to her hometown of Sullivan’s Crossing, a remote campground run by her eccentric and estranged father, Sully (Scott Patterson), only to meet handsome newcomer Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray), a mysterious stranger who’s struggling with his own brand of loss and loneliness as Maggie re-discovers her hometown.
‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ Moves From CTV to CW With Studio Partnership
The ten-part first season of “Sullivan’s Crossing” will hit the CW this fall. The series first premiered on Canadian television in March 2023. Regarding the series’ pickup and partnership with CTV, CW Entertainment President Brad Schwartz called “Sullivan’s Crossing” an “emotionally rich, authentic family drama that will immediately resonate with audiences thanks to an incredible cast and relatable themes of self-reflection, second chances and the power of community,” per Deadline.
“Sullivan’s Crossing” will be executive produced by Reel World Management in partnership with Fremantle and CTV, the original studio behind the drama series. Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry, the duo behind Netflix’s “Virgin River,” will once again be joining forces to produce the series, with Roth also doubling as the series showrunner.
