CD Projekt Red recently held a special Cyberpunk 2077 event. At the event, the company revealed the highly anticipated Cyberpunk DLC expansion called Phantom Liberty. Fans have known that a new expansion was on the way for a while now, but the Night City Wire show officially revealed it. Some details regarding the expansion have also been confirmed, along with a 2023 release date.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X next year. PS4 and Xbox One will not be getting the new DLC, unfortunately. The Cyberpunk 2077 1.6 update coming out today will be the last update for the last-gen version of the game. The Phantom Liberty expansion is being called a “spy thriller” and will allow players to explore a new area within the sprawling night city.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty trailer was well received, as it is definitely an impressive showcase of the game’s visuals. The trailer showed some of the places that players will be visiting during the campaign. To the joy of fans, Johnny Silverhand will be making a comeback with Keanu Reeves reprising his role. Keanu appeared during the online event confirming his role in the upcoming DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty New Opportunity

The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC is a rare opportunity available to CD Projekt Red to make a new impression for the game. Back before the release of the game, it was probably the most anticipated game in the history of video games. But the janky release resulted in a massive drop in faith in the developer. Most of the issues during the release were on the last-gen versions of the game; maybe that is the reason the DLC will not be making it to the older consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 has improved by leaps and bounds since its disastrous release, with the game getting a plethora of fixes and additions since its release in the form of patches. Those who decided not to play the game in its launch state will probably find the game a completely new experience in comparison. Perhaps this DLC will allow all the players who decided to skip the game another opportunity to experience life in Night City.

Those who have already played the game can not only look forward to the DLC expansion but also watch the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix.
