In-N-Out is famous for its burgers, which are famously not vegan-friendly. Most fans are aware of this, but some noobies are still unfamiliar with the best fast-food burger in America. One woman decided to take advantage of this virgin experience at a California In-N-Out, and it didn’t go as planned. What began as a simple joke soon turned into an unimpressive combo meal. In the video, posted by madiegoetzzzzz, her dad is audibly disgusted by the thought of what he might be eating.
Her dad starts out raving about his burger and can be heard saying, “One bite? For the price, everything, one of the best I’ve ever had.” And then, it’s prank time. As his daughter enjoys a burger next to him, she says, “It is so good. I genuinely cannot believe this is all vegan.” Her act is enough to fool even true fans.
The video goes on, with her dad questioning the fries instead of the burger. Finally, it dawns on him that his daughter is telling him the entire meal, including the burger, is meatless. “Everything is vegan, Dad,” she says, “We’re in L.A.” As it sinks in, the contents of the burger dawn on him. “What do you mean? This is not meat meat?” Managing to keep a straight face, his daughter once again repeats that it’s vegan.
“I wanted a hamburger burger,” he says. “I don’t want to eat fake meat. Is this even–what is this?” His disbelief continues, as he adds, “I don’t want to eat like a salad hamburger.” The bit goes on, and his daughter asks what he thinks it tastes like. “It tastes like baked beans or some sh**,” he responds. While the overall tone was humorous, some viewers had opinions on the switch-up in response.
“Changed his taste buds,” one user commented. Another responded, saying, “He’s acting like the restaurant changed their logo,” joking about the recent Cracker Barrel conspiracy. Others commented on the lack of open-mindedness to new foods. “‘Americans are so unhealthy,’ also Americans, ‘I don’t want to eat veggies, ‘ lmao,” someone said.
