Daisy Ridley who played the leading role of Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens just dished out some information to MTV News about the filming of Star Wars VIII. It would make sense that a top box office movie with eager fans all over the world would have to keep a tight lip and top secret about any information involving movie production. In her conversation with MTV News, Ridley was quoted saying “Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, and it’s really amazing.” Remaining very secretive she continued and added…

“Luke is so cool in this one” and “Episode VIII” is “such a good story.” – Daisy Ridley

Although this is the first of any of the cast members to reveal anything about the film, it does not elaborate or give us any more than what the production announcement released in February already has. We do know now for sure that the film will begin exactly where it left off (like we see in the announcement trailer) in episode VII – Rey confronting and handing over a lightsaber to Luke Skywalker on the island-riddled planet of Ahch-To. This isn’t much, and we all currently have so many questions. Is Rey Luke’s daughter? Niece? Why was she left on Jakku? Is Finn force sensitive? Can there not be another death star in the next film? Regardless, with the next film almost two years away and information already slowly leaking out, we will have answers soon. You will need to decide if you want to know as much as possible before the movie comes out or hide out and keep off the Internet and see the film knowing nothing. The full casting list was also recently released confirming the return of most main characters and the addition of two new cast members – Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern. Until the release on December 15, 2017, keep your eyes open and ears attentive for more plot points.
