During the June 26 broadcast of the New York Mets’ 4-0 shutout victory over the Atlanta Braves, a pair of unexpected stars took center stage, and no, they weren’t wearing cleats. In the top of the 6th inning, with the Mets up 2-0 and the bases empty, SNY’s cameras zoomed in on the crowd and landed on two baseball fans decked out in full spandex bodysuits.
One wore an eye-popping green alien suit with black shorts, while the other rocked a skintight gray morphsuit, baseball cap, and jeans. What followed was nearly 30 seconds of unfiltered hype, as the duo danced wildly, flexed their muscles, and whipped the crowd into a frenzy.
The moment had broadcasters Gary Cohen and Ron Darling in stitches. “If I tried to do that, I’d fall over into the next row,” Cohen quipped as the camera lingered on the two fans busting moves. “Injured for me,” Darling replied. “I’d injure somebody else falling on top of them,” Cohen added, drawing laughs from the booth and fans alike.
Alien Sighting at Citi Field? Dancing Duo Steals the Show During Mets’ 4-0 Win Over Braves
Social media quickly exploded with reactions to the clip, which some are now calling the birth of a new Citi Field tradition. “The Dancing Alien Era?” one fan wrote. Another added, “Umm… I… I have so many questions,” while others chimed in with “Hahaha wth,” “What am I watching here,” and “What is going on?” Of course, credit was also given where it’s due, with one viewer praising the coverage, “Best damn production & broadcast team in baseball.”
The crowd around the dancing duo loved every second, with fans cheering, clapping, and filming the moment on their phones. It was pure ballpark chaos, and everyone was here for it.

As the alien and his gray-clad sidekick stole hearts in the stands, the Mets were holding it down on the field, securing a crucial 4-0 victory that propelled them into sole possession of first place in the National League East. But the celebratory night came with a dark cloud.
Starting pitcher Griffin Canning, who has been one of the Mets’ most reliable arms this season, was forced to exit the game in the third inning after suffering a left Achilles injury. The right-hander is scheduled for an MRI on Friday. Canning’s exit marked the third injury to a Mets starter this month, joining Kodai Senga (right hamstring strain) and Tylor Megill (right elbow sprain) on the list of June casualties.
Despite the tough loss on the mound, fans at Citi Field had plenty to cheer about, both on and off the field. From clutch plays to costume-clad crowd-surfing, it was a night no one will forget.
