Convicted rapist Danny Masterson is one year into his 30-year prison sentence, and he still manages to seem to destroy his former friends and supporters’ lives. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are finally starting to rebuild their reputation and lives. However, another celebrity who showed the former That 70s Show star her support is now scrambling to save her career.
On Thursday, Emily Armstrong was announced as Lincoln Park’s new female lead singer. Ever since the announcement, the former Dead Sara singer has been attempting to do damage control and save her career amid fierce public backlash.
Armstrong posted a public notice via Instagram explaining her previous ties to the Church of Scientology’s fallen member, Danny Masterson.
“Hi, I’m Emily,” she wrote in an Instagram story post. “I’m new to so many of you, and I wanted to clear the air about something that happened a while back.
“Several years ago, I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer. Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have. I always try to see the good in people, and I misjudged him. I have never spoken with him since.
“Unimaginable details emerged and he was later found guilty. To say it as clearly as possible: I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes.”
However, despite her explanation, fans continue to slam the singer, and things are not looking too good for her. One commenter writes, “For yall saying “she doesn’t support Danny,” she literally still follows him. It’s not like she isn’t on Instagram posting, so she knows what’s going on on social media.”
Another adds, “Cant support linkin park with a scientologist and a masterson friend.” A Third adds, “Do us all a favor and leave this band.”
Danny Masterson Curse Continues To Plague Former Supporters
As Masterson reaches year one behind bars, his former friends are dealing with the nightmare and aftermath of his rape conviction. While they struggle to distance themselves from the shame and humiliation brought on by Masterson, the fallen actor seemingly lives a fairly easy existence behind bars.
Danny’s prison life is better than many would expect. Despite losing his freedom, his wife, and his child, Danny reportedly thrives behind bars. In May, sources told In Touch Masterson’s days consist of sports, video games, and hours of entertainment, enjoying a collection of TV shows and movies downloaded on prison tablets.
As for his work detail behind bars, Danny Masterson seems to have a pretty cushy job compared to many other inmates.
“Masterson works for prison guards as an errand boy. He hands out ‘ducats’ or permission slips to fellow inmates who have medical appointments, counseling sessions and other appointments within the prison.
“He can spend up to $300 a month at the canteen. And it has limited items, mostly snack items, chips. Honey Buns is the big thing in prison. For protein they sell bagged chicken and tuna,” the insider reveals.
How severely the Danny Masterson connection will affect Emily Armstrong’s involvement with Lincoln Park is unknown. If it is anywhere as severe as Ashton and Mila’s year-long backlash, Emily could be dealing with a lot of drama for some time. As for Danny, he still has 29 more years behind bars.
