Danny Trejo has been vocal about his political stance, especially in recent years. The 80-year-old actor was recently spotted on the street and asked for his thoughts on the election, plus Donald Trump’s plans for mass deportation. Ultimately, Trejo doesn’t think Trump will follow through with his plans.
Danny Trejo Doesn’t Judge Anyone For How They Voted
In July, Danny Trejo took to X, formerly Twitter, to discuss the upcoming election. Days after the debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, he wrote, “All you wussy democrats that don’t know that @realDonaldTrump is a great talker, one of the best…but thank god @JoeBiden is one of the doers.”
He made it clear where he stood when it came to politics. However, when he was asked about the outcome of the election this week, he said that he wouldn’t hold anybody’s vote against them. Trejo said he’d never try to tell someone who to vote for, even though he’s not a fan of Trump himself.
When it comes to the mass deportations that Trump promised, Danny Trejo doesn’t think it’ll happen. The reporter asked him if he thought Hispanics voted against themselves in this election. He replied, “I’d never criticize anybody for voting the way they wanted to vote. Period. I think a lot of them know that he was talking out his a** because there’s no such thing as mass deportation.”
Trejo continued, stating, “He’s not going to do it.” The Machete actor also said that he doesn’t believe anyone should be concerned about deportation. At the end of the day, he doesn’t believe that the Trump administration will have the resources necessary for mass deportation.
Trejo Has His Sights Set On The Future With Gavin Newsome
Laughing, he added that Trump shouldn’t piss Mexico off. “We’ll send more!” Trejo said with a big smile on his face. While many people in sanctuary cities are scrambling to figure out how they’ll deal with Trump’s deportation policies, Trejo simply doesn’t believe it’s worth a second thought.
Tying up the interview, the reporter asked if there would be an “economic collapse” if Trump pulled off a mass deportation. Danny Trejo replied, “Now, you said it, I didn’t. But basically yes!”
Overall, the Hollywood actor isn’t concerned about the next four years. He already has his sights set on who he is going to support in the 2028 election. Trejo mentioned that California state governor Gavin Newsome would be running for president. It’s clear he’s already got Trejo’s vote and he’s going to do plenty of rallying to help Newsome get into the White House.
