Daredevil: Gang War Introduces A Mysterious New Hero

Daredevil: Gang War debuts this week and follows the Woman Without Fear as she attempts to keep crime from tearing Hell’s Kitchen apart. However, the first issue is also set to introduce a new mysterious character for Daredevil to deal with. While we have no clue who this hero could be or their intentions, they will inevitably play a large role in the series. Marvel’s synopsis for the second issue mentions this new hero, while the third issue features them on the cover.

Marvel’s Gang Wars event is bleeding out into the Marvel Universe. It all kicked off in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man. The wedding between Beetle and Tombstone’s daughter ended in tragedy as Hammerhead launched a deadly attack. This kicked off a war in the criminal underbelly of Marvel’s New York. The major crime gangs are now vying for power, and this war is threatening to spill out into the streets.

So, Spider-Man is recruiting his friendly neighborhood heroes to keep the criminals at bay. Heroes like Luke Cage and Spider-Woman are lending a hand. Now, Elektra Natchios is joining the fight in Daredevil: Gang War. She is attempting to keep Hell’s Kitchen from succumbing to this new wave of crime. However, this mysterious new hero may cause trouble for the Woman Without Fear.

Friend Or Foe?

Daredevil: Gang War #1 is the official debut of this new hero. This new player on the board is adorned in a black and red suit, not unlike Elektra’s Daredevil costume. With red wraps on the arms and double blades, this new character gives Daredevil a run for their money. With long white-blonde hair and a full-faced mask with a red “X”, it is hard to tell who this person is.

While this new character appears to be a foil to Elektra, matching her in skill and combat, they may end up an ally in this new fight. The synopsis for Daredevil: Gang War #2 hints that Daredevil will get distracted by this hero. This may spell trouble for Hell’s Kitchen. Perhaps Daredevil will need this person to keep crime from overtaking the streets.
