The official Twitter account for Marvel’s Daredevil has released an image that teases yet another potential challenge for The Man Without Fear.

The image, as you can see below, is a blueprint for what looks to be an updated costume for Daredevil. Next to the blueprint is a blade with the initials “MP” on it. The quote tweeted out with the image is from Melvin Potter, who recites the line to Daredevil when confronted about Wilson Fisk’s special body armor.

‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Photo Hints at Marvel Villain Gladiator

In the comics, Melvin Potter is The Gladiator, a costume designer who decide to become a professional criminal, with the help of his state of the art costumes and near-perfect physical condition. However, he does reform and become one of Daredevil’s biggest allies, thanks to Nelson and Murdock helping Potter avoid a nasty murder rap.

We’ve already seen a bit of this in Melvin Potter, who is portrayed by Matt Gerald on the show, as he first attacks Daredevil and then seemingly befriends him when Daredevil promises to make sure Betsy Beatty, a woman whom Potter is in a relationship with. It isn’t too out of the realm of possibility if Marvel expands on this brief encounter in Season 2, in order to show off some of the brutal fight scenes allowed through The Gladiator’s brute strength.

The Gladiator also teamed up with Daredevil and Elecktra to fight the Hand, an entity that was teased a few times throughout season 1. Elodie Yung, best known for her work in G.I. Joe Retaliation, has been cast as Elecktra. Since showrunner Marco Ramirez has referred to season 2 as “Daredevil Vs. The Punisher,” it looks like Daredevil, The Punisher, The Gladiator, and Elecktra will all be up against one another at some point, hopefully capitalizing on Daredevil’s carefully crafted, yet visceral and brutal, enclosed fight scenes.

Daredevil Season 2 is currently in production and is slated to be available for binge watching sometime in 2016.
